Chairmen's Corner - 2nd Quarter Update

Hello Chamber friends and welcome to the Chairman's Corner. I hope to pull back the curtain a little bit for you all in the hopes of revealing more detail in what we are doing, and how it can impact you. I might also have some personal reflections sprinkled throughout these. With my first contribution to the blog, I wanted to let everyone know why I continue to be a part of the Eagle Chamber of Commerce. I have been a member of the Eagle Chamber of Commerce since 2017. I decided to join about a month before I opened my practice and I have not regretted it.

The very first event I showed up too was the members luncheon at Idaho Pizza Company. I do not remember who the speaker or the sponsor was, but I do remember sitting next to the only other person to show up as early as me, former Eagle Mayor Stan Ridgeway. I received such a warm welcome from him, the current Executive Director, and current Board that they made me feel like I was home.  Since then, there has been a lot of change at almost every level from the rebuilding of our Ambassadors Program to the Board of Directors to a new Executive Director, and now I find myself as the Chairman of the Board.
I would like to explain a little as to why I have stuck with the Eagle Chamber all of these years, and to hopefully convince you to stick around too.

The number one thing would have to be the close knit community. As I already mentioned, our former mayor showed up to the luncheon, and now our current mayor, Jason Pierce, can also be found at most of our events. The city of Eagle and Eagle Chamber of Commerce have always worked well together and supported each other throughout my time here. The community that this Chamber of Commerce has has always warmed my heart.
Second would be the flexibility to find ways to provide for our members. At the end of 2019 we hired Brandy to help us with growth and get to know all of you on a closer level. Well, COVID hit us in 2020 and face to face connections were hard to make, so the Board and Brandy switched gears and focused on learning how to reach you through social media, and other indirect means. Little did we know that this would take off as well as it did. Our social media grew over 700% since then and when we did not shrink in membership, in fact we grew a little. I do not know too many Chambers that can boast that, and I take no credit for it. My thanks go to our hard working executive director Jennifer, all the Board members throughout the last three years, and of course all of our awesome supportive members who believed in this Chamber and what we stood for.

If you have not been to a luncheon this year, you have missed out. Jennifer has brought in some amazing speakers and has more great speakers to come. This first quarter of 2023 has been a blast and we have only bigger and better things to come.

If anyone ever wants to get a hold of me for any reason at all, you can email me at whitepinechiro@gmail.com (I am always game for a good cup of coffee).
