In the past\, the Eagle Chamber of Commerce has hosted public forums which allows voters to meet candidates\, learn about their priorities\, their platforms and to decide if their values align with those of the candidates. We believe this is an important contribution to the election process that allows voters to educate themselves before they vote for specific candidates. \n\n \n\nWe are passionate about making information available to voters\, so they are able to educate themselves before they vote. It has come to our attention that in recent years more and more candidates do not complete candidate questionnaires published by organizations and the newspapers. Due to the Covid restrictions\, the number of local forums had diminished. This has made it extremely difficult to become an "informed" voter where candidates can be chosen to whom most closely align with voting personal values. \n\n \n\nWith the recent district changes\, and high number of new residents who have moved to our area recently\, it is even more important that candidates have a public format where they can meet new resident voters\, express their values and intentions as representatives of District 14. \n\n \n\nWe hope you agree about the importance of the public forums in the election process and hope that it will be possible to showcase candidates running for office in District 14 before the Primary Election in May\, and again in the Fall for the General Election.
